SPEAK TO THE FUTURE CALL TO ACTION!
VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED FOR THE PRIMARY LANGUAGES HUB AT THE LANGUAGE SHOW LIVE 17 – 19 OCTOBER 2014 AT KENSINGTON OLYMPIA (LONDON)

As all in the language community know, from this September, every child from the age of seven will have the opportunity to learn another language! This is long-awaited and very welcome news!

There will be many members of the general public, as well as primary teachers and trainee teachers, who will have lots of questions and much to discuss about how to take primary languages forward. This is a great opportunity to support teachers and the wider public in understanding the new policy and to share the wealth of experience and good practice that many have developed over this long journey to statutory status.

Together, Speak to the Future and ALL hope to be out in force at the London Language Show in October. We are drawing together an expert army of volunteers willing to meet and talk to teachers and the wider public in the dedicated primary languages hub at the Languages Show Live. The idea is that we can discuss language learning and inspire teachers and the general public about primary languages, giving help and advice and encouragement in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

Don’t be put off by the term ‘expert’! In primary languages, there are many kinds of expertise. All you need to be is an enthusiast for languages who is currently teaching a modern language in school or advising on primary languages developments or training primary teachers. You can be a specialist linguist or a generalist with specialism in primary education. The one indispensable attribute is belief in the future of language learning for all our children!
N.B. We are very aware that many of us are double or triple-badged, so please don’t worry, if you have already volunteered through ALL that is absolutely fine. We look forward to seeing you in the PRIMARY LANGUAGES HUB!

We look forward to hearing from you!
