Waltham Forest Bilingual Group (WFBG) is open to anyone who wishes to discuss issues around bilingualism, acquisition of languages, preservation of minority languages and related topics.
Organised and set up by parents who wanted to share experiences of raising children bilingually, it is based in East London (Waltham Forest) and aims to promote and encourage multilingualism (you can read more information on Speak to the future’s work in encouraging the learning of all languages). WFBG aims to support families speaking more than one language. The group holds monthly drop-in and play sessions, has developed workshops to help parents think through issues, concerns and decisions, and has a library of books about multilingualism for parents to borrow. Periodic guest speakers and other events are open to members and free to anyone interested in multilingual issues.
